Scientists have discovered a new species of animal to celebrate the New Year - An actual Pig-Monkey in a tree...

That is the despicable Bill Maher, once again mocking Denver Quarterback Tim Tebow and his faith. From The Blaze -

Maher posted two back-to-back tweets featuring the now infamous "Tebowing" stance. The first tweet, which read, "TREEbowing Happy New Year everybody and thanks for the 600,000 who joined me on twitter in 2011," featured a link to a picture of Maher Tebowing in a tree (hence the "TREEbowing" reference).

And while we're on the subject of Tim Tebow, here is Terrell Suggs, a linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens, dissing Tebow's faith on the sidelines... (Chickenhawk Express tip o' the hat to The Blaze)

When we play Raven football, it’s scary,” Suggs said during the interview. Then, he went on to claim that his team doesn‘t necessarily need God’s assistance on the sidelines. (snip)

I personally think it's refreshing to see a young man with so many God-given talents be true to his faith and beliefs. As a die-hard GA Bulldog fan, I didn't like Tebow in his college football years but only because I was born to dislike anything "Gators". But his devotion, his firm belief in God and the fact that he is an "unashamed Christian" gives me hope for this world. Such a great role model for our young people when we are over-run with "hero worship" of thugs and criminals.

We have strayed from our beliefs and public expression of our faith thanks to the PC police. It's time to return to our faith and turn our lives over to God. And I thank Tim Tebow and his family for bringing some sanity to this insane world.

My List of Unusual Thanks

On Thanksgiving we all think about what we are thankful for.I have so many blessings that it would take pages to list them all. So this year I decided to list the most unusual things that I am thankful for. This list/post is not meant to downplay the true blessings in my life or to mock the meaning of the day. I just thought that with all the heavinesss surrounding our lives,a little lightness was in order.So here goes. Some may sound strange but I bet there are some you can identify with...1. Keurig coffeemaker - I can make a cup of fresh brewed coffee or tea anytime of the day or night and don't have to clean a coffeepot or tolerate warmed over coffee.2. Luggage with wheels - now that I'm single those little wheels are a lifesaver when I travel.3. Yoga pants - now I can be comfortable while working at home but still look nice enough to run errands if I need to. Plus you don't have to deal with the terribly unflattering sweat pants or the crinkle-while-you-walk of windsuit pants.4. Bounce dryer bar - don't have to suffer through the humiliation of dropping a used dryer sheet from your pants leg when out in public5. Gas powered lawnmower - after using a rotary pushmower to cut my little yard the past 2 summers, thisis truly a blessing for me and my neighbors who no longer have to watch me struggle while sweating like a cottonpicker in the deep south in August.6. The E-Reader lending library in my town - as an avid reader I can enjoy my Nook Color without spending a small fortune buying books.7. Pizza & Other type of delivery food - when the cupboard is bare, when a work deadline is looming or if I just don't feel like cooking, I can pop online and order/pay for the food to be delivered right to me with no mess or cleanup.8. Digital cameras - now i don't have to use up a whole roll of film and have it developed only to discover that you blurred that once in a lifetime moment - like the time I got to meet Dwight "the catch" Clark and the picture didn't turn out.9. Ebay - the source of some of the most unusual and unforgettable gifts I have ever given. Like the Mr. Clean "doll" for my brother who was petrified by Mr. Clean when we were growing up or the Halliburton golf balls I ffound for my Daddy.10. last but not least- Twitter and Facebook which have allowed me to connect with people I haven't seen in years or would never in a million years have a chance to communicate with.HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

Here Comes the Bride...

No - no - no - not me. I've learned my lesson in the marriage department. My baby girl got married last weekend. THAT has been occupying my blogging time for the past year - all the wedding planning and making decorations, invitations, etc. The wedding was beautiful - and the bride was stunning. I may be a bit on the partial side but you can judge for yourself just how gorgeous she is.

Now that the wedding is over and the divorce settlement check is in the bank, I can refocus my attention back to blogging and politics. I never really went away - I was twittering while doing wedding stuff.

So here's to a fresh new start - not only to my daughter and my wonderful new son-in-law - but to Chickenhawk Express. I'm Back......

Way Past Time for Justice

The GA Board of Pardons and Parole issued a denial of clemency for cop-killer Troy Anthony Davis this AM. FINALLY - all appeals are now exhausted. The Board's decision cannot be overturned by the Governor. So it looks like justice will finally be served for the cold-blooded murder of Savannah Police Officer Mark MacPhail after 20+ years.

The spectacle surrounding the appeals in this case has been at best misguided - at worst a disgraceful display of race-baiting. For those of us following this case from the DAY OF THE MURDER, the mockery of our judicial system by 2 organizations looking to cash in on the case has left a horrendous taste in our mouth. Amnesty International used the murder of Officer MacPhail as a platform for their anti-death penalty views. There was never any question of guilt or innocence - it was all about stopping the death penalty. For the NAACP, well the reasons certainly don't need to be explained. Just the same old typical race card plays that have become the norm from the NAACP.

This case had nothing to do with race but everything to do with justice. I throw up in my mouth every time I hear the media spew the same talking points about witness recantation. They always forget to bring up the fact that the recantations came YEARS after the original trial and were actually not really recantations - more of a "I can't remember" claims. Lost in all the propaganda is the shell casing matching the casing used in a shooting earlier in the tragic evening for which Troy Anthony Davis was convicted of. Also lost is the pair of Davis' shorts in his mother's washer that contained forensic evidence that tied Davis to the murder. Davis' mother claimed that the police forced their way into her home and she did not give them permission to search the washer so the evidence was tossed out.

So tomorrow night at 7pm the family of Mark MacPhail will finally see that justice has been done. Someone claimed today that the family will get their revenge when Davis is executed. I call bravo sierra on that - the family will get to see justice that has been delayed for 20+ years finally delivered.

I actually had someone on Twitter call me ignorant and being glad someone was being put to death was distasteful. I explained that what was distasteful was a thug and punk shooting a mortally wounded off-duty police officer in the face and the creep smiling as he pulled the trigger.

President George W. Bush Interview Remembering Sept 11

This is without a doubt one of the most comprehensive interviews of President George W. Bush recounting the events of Spetember 11, 2001. Watching the footage and photos from that day, I am reminded just how blessed our country was to have him leading our country during this time of tragedy and grief. No matter if you are a Republican or a Democrat, you have to admit that his leadership and calm helped move us through one of the most difficult times in our country's history.

Now - all kumbaya feelings aside - try to imagine how our current President would react to such a situation... I think back to how he briefly threw out a mention about the Ft. Hood massacre after he thanked some political cronies. It's hard to imagine any emotion coming from him other than derision and devisiveness.

Thank you President Bush for thinking of our country and the citizens first. Thank you for your calm leadership during the storm of September 11, 2001.

Liars, Cheats and Deadbeats, Oh My!

What a week this has been! We have been subjected to lies and the liars that tell them during the whole Debt Ceiling debacle. I have never witnessed a sitting President of the United States lie repeatedly on national TV on multiple occasions while the media just laps it up. Then the media starts spouting the very same talking points. Not only the lies, but the blatant hypocrisy and vile rhetoric spewing from the Left has just reached a fever pitch. At any moment I expected to see foam covering Press Sec Carney's mouth when Ed Henry pressed him on a question about the President's plan. And how about the VP of the United States calling 60% of Americans "terrorists"?? What really chaps my arse is this is from the same administration that refuses to call an actual terrorist a "terrorist".

I know that I have been extremely remiss in my blogging but life has just consumed almost every waking moment the past 6 months - well actually the past almost 3 years now. With political season heating up, you can be sure that I will MAKE time to blog. You can also follow me on Twitter - @robin0120 - which has become quite an addiction.

So... I can't finish a post about liars, cheats and deadbeats without bringing you up to date on my whole divorce drama. My goodness this whole thing has been just too twisted for words. Finally had the hearing back in September 2010 BUT it took the Judge until June 1, 2011 to issue his final settlement decision and decree of divorce. I was actually shocked beyond words when I got to the "what did I get" part - more money than I originally asked for and sole possession of my 401K. Guess the judge didn't have a problem seeing through the lies of TheColdOne on the witness stand. The judge gave him 60 days to pay me in full.

On the very last day of the deadline for filing an appeal, TheColdOne's attorney filed an appeal. It was really pretty sad because it was pretty much based on a clerical error and didn't have one ounce of fact based merit. Of course we replied and the judge completely dismissed the appeal and signed an amended order with the corrected clerical error - there was no change whatsoever in the settlement but he did leave in the date for the payment from the original order. Well of course that date has come and gone and I still don't have the money. TheColdOne's attorney is not returning phone calls or emails from my attorney so we are filing the contempt paperwork by the end of the week. Since TheColdOne is supposed to judge at the Hunting Retriever Club's Grand Competition in Canada in September, we are also asking the judge to withhold his passport and restrict all travel until he pays up.

You may think I'm bitter - I am but not about the divorce or the failed marriage. I am mad as hell that TheColdOne can't even man up enough to pay his responsibilities. I know it just pissed him off to see what the judge ordered for the settlement - should have taken the $8000 settlement offer idiot - but that's how the chips fell. You can believe that if the situation were reversed, he would be beating down my door to get the money. It's not my fault that he spent money like a drunken sailor at the low-class Hooters wannabe bar near our house or that hanging with strippers at the Gold Club cost so much.

But in the end, he will have to pay up. He's not hurting me by not paying - that's the whole point of the little game he is playing. I have the money to pay for my daughter's wedding and I've managed quite well with just my salary for the past 2 1/2 years. I hope, for his sake, that he decides to do the right thing sooner than later. It will be quite embarrassing to have to admit to the Grand Committee that he can't judge the field trials because he is a deadbeat.

Qaddafi and Obama - Six Degrees of Separation

All eyes have been focused on the uprising in Libya and the crazy leader Qaddafi. For some in the younger generation, Qaddafi is simply a crazy dictator that wears bizarre clothes. For those of us "older" folks, we remember the Libyan leader's hands shoved deep into the Lockerbie bombing. He is an evil man and should have been taken care of a long time ago.

But everyone is shocked, just shocked I tell you, at the delay in President Obama's response to the brutal response to the protesters in Libya - especially after Obama was quick to jump on the anti-Mubarek bandwagon. I'm not willing to permanently don my tinfoil hat but there is a connection between Obama and Qaddafi - a kind of Six Degrees of Separation connection.

Who could ever forget Obama's "spiritual mentor", Rev. Jeremiah Wright? Wright has been pretty silent since Obama threw him under the bus but back in 2009, Wright didn't shy away from bragging about his trip to Libya with Louis Farrakhan. Gateway Pundit posted the following video...

Per Gateway Pundit - A video surfaced in 2009 showing Barack Obama's pastor and mentor praising Marxism and discussing his ties to Communists in El Salvador and Nicaragua and the Libyan government. This speech by Wright was delivered less than two years ago on September 17, 2009.

Jeremiah Wright's relationship with Farrakhan is well documented throughout the Internet. You can read Mark Hyman's 10/16/08 American Spectator column, Obama's Farrakhan Problem, for instance. But this little tidbit from Hyman's article struck me as quite odd especially when reading it in light of today's world...

Wright's close friendship with Farrakhan goes back at least to the 1980s. Wright joined Farrakhan on a 1984 trip to Libya to visit Moammar Gadhafi. Wright predicted that once this became public knowledge "a lot of his [Obama's] Jewish support will dry up quicker than a snowball in Hell."

No direct ties to Obama but ties to a person that Obama once called a "mentor" - enough of a connection to make one go "hmmm" when you consider the polar opposite responses between Egypt and Libya.

No matter what the outcome, it's reaching a point where even Obama supporters have got to be scratching their head over who Obama really is and what he truly believes. Are the chickens from Obama's past starting to come home to roost??

BTW don't hold your breath waiting on the mainstream media to bring any of this up. They are too busy worrying about Lindsay Lohan's possible jail time and the prank call to Wisconsin Gov Walker to deal with Obama issues.

Leaked Videos, Texts and Pics Scream Ulterior Motive

It seems that we have the beginning of an epidemic here in our country. Videos, text messages and even photos from several years earlier are being leaked to media outlets causing some hefty PR bills for a couple of high profile people. First there was the Brett Favre cellphotos of "Mr. Happy" and now some >3 year old videos made to entertain troops aboard ship during a deployment have cost a career Navy Captain his command.

Forget the whole argument about whether or not these leaked media bytes are inappropriate or harassment. No one can deny the pics/videos, etc are in poor taste and disgusting (as in the Brett Favre's pics). Let's focus on why the info is suddenly in the media now.

The Favre incident was over 2 years ago. Why are the claims, messages and photos coming out now? If Favre committed harassment or offended someone, then why the wait? Is someone looking to force him to take a much needed retirement? Was the hope for retirement due to total humiliation the primary goal?

What about Capt Honors' videos? They were leaked to the Virginian-Pilot Newspaper and have since gone viral. Capt Honors has now been relieved of his command over the USS Enterprise and any career advancement in the Navy has been effectively squashed. Is it simply a coincidence that the leaked videos contained "gay slurs" right after the repeal of "Don't Ask - Don't Tell"? Did Capt Honors step on the wrong toes and this is the "payback"? It seems that if someone was offended by the videos, they would not wait until 4 years later to make it an issue. Unless this was just the more opportune time to start the dripping.

We'll probably never know the answers to the questions unless the person leaking the information in either case comes forward. For now it is simply speculation. But the uproar over the Navy videos seems over the top and truly borders on politically correct insanity. I've seen much more offensive parodies on Saturday Night Live or even HBO. Have we just turned into a nation of "offended people"?

Face it - you can't speak your mind without self-censoring yourself. Heaven forbid you might get slapped upside the head with the "intolerant" label or worse yet, have the race card played against you. It's reached a point where you have to tiptoe around hoping that just your very presence doesn't offend someone. You could end up as the target of an over-zealous media looking for another soul to roast or even get called out by one of the Reverends who make a living on crying "offensive".

The next time someone leaks a video, text or pics, it would be nice if the media would shine the spotlight on the leaker - especially if the event is several years old and doesn't involve an actual crime (had to add that so no one would get on the self-righteous bandwagon). Before we destroy a reputation or career, let's see if there is an ulterior motive behind it. More often than not, I'm willing to bet there is.

In the meantime, let this be a lesson to all those who think it's cute to photograph one's manly bits or make offensive videos. If you don't want them to end up on YouTube or the cover of the National Enquirer, keep them to yourself or better yet, hit the delete key. You'll save yourself a lot of grief later.

We can't let the enthusiasm wane just because we took over the House. We have to keep up the pressure and the visibility in order to ensure that Congress hears us and knows the consequences for dismissing "We, the People".

Vote Wisely

While walking down the street one day a corrupt Senator was tragically hit by a car and died. His soul arrives in Heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance. "Welcome to Heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a Senator around these parts, so we're not sure what to do with you."

"No problem, just let me in," says the Senator. St. Peter replied, "Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from the higher ups. What we'll do is have you spend one day in Hell and one in Heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity."

St. Peter escorts the Senator to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to Hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him. Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich
at the expense of the people. They played a friendly game of golf and then dined on lobster, caviar and the finest champagne. Also present is Satan, who is having a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are all having such a good time that before the Senator realizes it, it is time to go. Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises.

The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens in Heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him, "Now it's time to visit Heaven..." The Senator is joined by a group of contented souls. They spend the day moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before The Senator realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by.
St Peter returns and says, "Well, you've spent a day in Hell and another in Heaven. Now choose your eternity." The Senator reflects for a minute, then he answers: "I would never have said it before, I mean Heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in Hell." So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to Hell...

The doors of the elevator open and the Senator is in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage. He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls to the ground. Satan comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulders.

"I don't understand," stammers the Senator. "Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne,and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?"

Satan smiles at him and says, "Yesterday we were campaigning, today, you voted"

NPR Has Awakened A Sleeping Giant

I bet NPR is really sorry that they kissed CAIR's backside and fired Juan Williams. They are getting hammered from one end to the other and it shows no signs of letting up.

Personally, Juan Williams was simply telling the truth about what many Americans feel - whether or not we have the courage to say it out loud- about our emotions taking over whenever we get on an airplane in this post 9/11 world. Juan just happened to say it on the dreaded FOX News which is what earned him this punishment.

And let's not forget all the advice to "pay attention to our surroundings" and "notify someone if you see suspicious activity" from Homeland Security. Even without the DHS advisories, it tends to be human nature to pay closer attention to certain characteristics after a tragedy. How many people can truly say that after Columbine they didn't get weirded out when seeing someone in a long black trenchcoat? After living in OKC during the Murrah Building bombing, any Ryder truck set my teeth on edge. Does that mean I'm bigoted against black trenchcoat wearing people or people that rent Ryder trucks. NO - it's a natural reaction to tragedy.

But this politically correct crap regarding Islam is really starting to wear thin. First the Ground Zero mosque and now this. Why is it NOT okay to say something about Islam but mocking/ridiculing Christianity or the Jewish faith is considered fashionable? Frankly this politically correct crapola about Islam will be the death of us yet.

I do have to thank NPR and CAIR for bringing this issue to the front page especially at this time of year. This censureship in the name of Islam has only stirred up the fire for those that were starting to experience campaign fatigue or election overload. Hard to imagine but the firing of Juan Williams has awakened a tired sleeping giant that is sick of the double standards and politically correctness saturating our country.

Free at Last! Free at Last!!

Oh Happy Day! I am now divorced from the sub-human that I used to call my husband. We ended up having to go to Court because we could not come to an agreement on the settlement. It was nerve-wracking but also quite cathartic. My attorney and I had decided that we would not open the can of worms about my depression - I wanted the hearing to be simply about the money because the marriage was deader than Teddy Kennedy.

BUT the ignorant fool that I used to be married to brought it up in his testimony. Big mistake cause then I was able to get it on the record in the court transcripts about him hooking up with his ex-wife, Diane Tryan, for "special surprises" and tan-line comparisons which led to a major fight that ended in me attempting to slit my wrists about 8 years ago. Jerk actually testified that I called it a suicide attempt but he thought it was just me trying to get attention. You should have seen the judge's face when he said that - I wish I could have taken a picture for my scrapbook.

Anyway - all I'm waiting on is the judge to issue his settlement in writing. I am just hoping that it is fair - it's never been about the money. It's about forcing someone to face responsibility for all the pain they deliberately inflicted on another human being. Meanwhile, the arse-wipe that I used to call my husband is crying on his facebook page about how my mom lied on the stand. WTF??? Hello moron - my mother simply told the truth while you lied like the stinking piece of cow dung that you are. He lied so much that I was truly afraid we were all going to be incinerated by the flames when lightning struck him.

So - I'm back in all my glory. Bruised with scars but fiestier than ever. I've learned a lot these past 20 months - and I've learned that I don't have to take crap from no one! Watch out world - Chickenhawk Express is back in business and she will take no prisoners and show no mercy.

I had the great priviledge of seeing Darryl Worley perform this live with Ted Nugent on guitar at the Freedom Concert 2004 in New Jersey. This song is absolutely so appropriate at this point in time. Many people seem to have forgotten the absolute horror and gut wrenching fear. I will never forget. No one should.

Why Is Islam Getting Preferential Treatment in America?

I completely disagree with the burning of the Quran - just as I disagree with burning the Bible, the American flag or killing in the name of a "religion". This is simply a publicity stunt by a "pastor" looking for his 15 minutes. It truly serves no purpose other than to incite violence in one form or another.

BUT - what I do have a problem with is all this worry about how the Muslims will react to the burning of the Quran. Does this mean that we can actually all agree that true Islam is NOT a religion of peace and tolerance? We continually bow to pressure from Muslim groups so as to not hurt their "feelings" but toss Christians aside and label them as "extremists" when they become vocal about their beliefs. Sure we were outraged over Bill Ayers stomping the American Flag in a magazine photo from several years ago - but did you see crazed Americans rioting in the streets and threatening death to Bill Ayers and any of his followers? And about those christian missionaries murdered in cold blood in Afghanistan - did you see Christians marching in the streets demanding that the DOJ covene a meeting of religious officials to discuss the violence? Were any Muslims in America attacked in retaliation?

Today Eric Holder and the DOJ held a "conference" with religious leaders to discuss the wave of anti-Islam attacks in this country. I kept looking at my computer screen re-reading the article and just shaking my head. WHAT anti-Islam attacks? The Muslim cab driver was assaulted by a drunk fellow who actually worked in some capacity with the Ground Zero Mosque developers. The attempted torching of a mosque in Tenn? Was there this much outrage when churches in Iraq were destroyed?

And to add insult to injury, Kristinn over at FreeRepublic posted this account of PJ Crowley's assinine comparison of burning to the Koran with the attacks of 9/11...

According to the State Department transcript of Tuesday's briefing, Crowley equated the protest burning of the Koran to the gruesome, fiery deaths of thousands of innocents at the hands of Muslim terrorists as he sought to bring public pressure on the church to cancel the protest:

"We hope that between now and Saturday, there’ll be a range of voices across America that make clear to this community that this is not the way for us to commemorate 9/11. In fact, it is consistent with the radicals and bigot – with those bigots who attacked us on 9/11."

Fighting for My Job While Obama Takes 4 Vacations in a Month

I found out today that I am one of 40 RN's that work at a home health company that will get to keep my position. I am one of the lucky ones - approx 200 RN's will lose their positions come the end of September. This elimination came about as a result of restructuring and such necessitated by upcoming Medicare cuts and the looming threat of the Obamacare slash & burn to healthcare.

The past month has been hell - we were told about a month ago. The past few weeks have been spent scouring the classifieds, re-applying and re-testing for the 40 positions and updating our resumes. We've been inundated with lists of available positions in the company - most of which would require us to go back into the "field" and see patients in their home. Most of us have worked in the home health field for years (15 for me). Most, like me, have worked our way up from field nurse to other management/administrative type positions. Not only will this be the first time in a while that some of the nurses have been involved in hands-on nursing, but there is the possibility of a decrease in pay. Many of the available positions are nowhere near any of those in this predicament. Sure they could re-locate but with families, committments, etc that's much easier said than done. Those that are unable to find a position within the company will have to look elsewhere. In my area, the only places hiring are hospitals and those are the 7pm -7am shifts.

Oh don't get me wrong - I consider myself beyond blessed to have a nursing degree where I can at least still find a job. I have friends and family members who have been out of work for over a year and prospects are slim to none in the near future.

And what was our Dear Leader doing while over 200 of us were getting ulcers and popping Aleve like candy over the past month? Why he was taking FOUR vacations in a month. Isn't that special?

I would love to take a vacation - heck I'd just like to be able to afford to go to DC for the 8/28 Rally or the 9/12 March of Washington. But with money tight and now more duties due to decreased staff, anything other than a day here or there is out of the question. I'd even settle for time for a round or two of golf but working 12 hours a day doesn't leave much time for leisure activities.

But I am grateful that even if I don't have time for leisure activities or vacation, I still have a job doing what I love and what I am damned good at. Others are not near as lucky as I am and that really makes me sad.

It is like a knife shoved into my stomach every time I see the pictures of our smiling President hitting the links or taking his family up the steps of Air Force One for a little R&R. At least Bill Clinton would say that "he feels our pain". Obama just doesn't even appear to give a rat's ass. So much for his "not going to rest" little Alinsky-ite turn of the phrase any time he is confronted with loss of jobs, loss of income, etc of us - the "little people".

I just hope that in 2012 Obama gets to really "feel our pain" and learn first hand what it is like to lose a job.

A Haditha Marine Speaks Out

Those of you that have followed my blog over the past few years, know about my passion for the Haditha Marines. From the moment John Murtha accused them of "cold-blooded murder", I knew, in my heart, that these brave young men were not guilty. It's hard to believe that it has been 4+ years since this all started. Now Retired Marine Corps lieutenant colonel Jeffrey Chessani has finally spoken out to Nat Helms over at Defend Our Marines. The entire article is a must read but here are a few snips...

After more than four years of legal wrangling, Chessani was forced to retire last week after Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus accepted a December 2009 ruling by a Camp Pendleton military board of inquiry that found Chessani was not guilty of misconduct after more than 23 years of exemplary service. The BOI ruled Chessani must retire anyway because he displayed “substandard performance” by failing to conduct a more detailed investigation of the civilians killed…” as a result of a house clearing counter-attack by four of his Marines.

The criminal charges against Chessani were dismissed in June 2008 when Marine Corps military judge Colonel Steven Folsom ruled that Chessani was the victim of undue command influence by General James Mattis while the distinguished general was considering whether to charge Chessani and his men with crimes. After two appeals courts refused to overturn Folsom’s ruling, Chessani was forced to endure a Board of Inquiry last December to determine whether he would be allowed to retire at his present rank.

Out of all the Marines charged in the Haditha incident, only one case has not been resolved.

Now, more than four and a half years later one enlisted Marine, Staff Sergeant Frank Wuterich, the squad leader who led the counterattack against the two houses where the civilians died, still faces 12 counts of involuntary manslaughter. Wuterich’s court martial is scheduled to begin September 13th at Camp Pendleton.

And for those in Michigan, please support Brian Rooney who is Republican running for the US House of Representatives. Brian was Lt. Col Chessani's lawyer and a Marine brother - they served together in the 2004 Battle for Fallujah. Also a huge thank you goes out to The Thomas Moore Law Center who was responsible for defending many of the Haditha Marines.

It's a shame that John Murtha died before he could apologize to those Marines that he slandered and befouled with his lies. Murtha was given MANY chances to apologize but refused to and never exhibited one iota of remorse.

As far as Tim McGirk, the weasel Time Magazine reporter, whose story started the whole lie rolling, may he never have another moments peace from whatever is left of his conscience. He did his best to destroy a group of heroes with his poison pen but fortunately the Haditha Marines were much stronger than McGirk figured they would be. It's easy to be strong and stand firm when you have the truth on your side. Something McGirk wouldn't know if it walked up and bit him on the ass.

Tim Robbins' perception of "the chill wind blowing across America" is finally coming true. It has reached a point where I have to pinch myself on a daily basis to ensure that I am not in the midst of a bad dream. For 8 years we had to put up with some of the nastiest, most vile comments about the President of the United States that have ever been uttered aloud, much less broadcast all over the tv, radio and printed in the newspaper. We were all told to sit down and take it since it was simply an expression of "free speech". I don't know how many times I had to restrain myself from throwing something at the TV or computer when a talking head or so-called pundit was bleating out hatred. I didn't think it could get worse than that. Boy was I wrong.

Now we have an administration that is so hell bent on controlling the masses, they will stop at nothing to shut up anyone who speaks out against this President or his policies. They trash talk, demean, mock and denigrate those that refuse to toe the socialist party line with terms like "tea-baggers". This administration is not shy about calling in their chits and utilizing any of their minions to accomplish their dirty deeds. Even worse, this administration makes no attempt to hide their part in the "contain and control process". They seem to relish it - almost taunting those they seek to destroy.

The administration has a problem with conservative talk radio. Obama was consistently whining about Hannity during the campaign. Shortly after his inaugueration, Obama warned the GOP'ers in Congress to avoid listening/following Rush Limbaugh. Neither one of those "shut-up" campaigns worked.

Now the administration has declared an economic jihad against Glenn Beck. Glenn Beck has been at the forefront of exposing the absolute corruption and marxist connections of the Obama administration. He has not been shy about speaking out about Obama's plans and policies. Beck exposed Van Jones, the Green Jobs Czar, before any of us "regular joes" even knew who Van Jones was. The audio tapes of Jones spouting Marxist nonsense were impossible to refute - after all - it was Van Jones himself doing the talking. So what is an avowed communist and his friends in high places to do? Why not declare a boycott using Jones' organization - "The Color of Change".

Contrary to leftist spew, Beck exposed Jones BEFORE the boycott. The faux outrage over Glenn Beck implying that Obama's behavior and words about the Cambridge PD was racist had nothing to do with the boycott calls. It was because Beck was getting a bit too close for comfort. You know the Leftist mantra - cry racism and play the race card before any damage can be done.

Glenn Beck exposed ACORN by giving Andrew Breitbart a national forum for the undercover tapes and highlighting some of the hijinks of SEIU. What could SEIU and Andy Stern do? Hmmm - how about a boycott? When Beck explained to his HUGE audience exactly what "social justice" really meant and how Obama and his advisor Jim Wallis were trying to get their socialist claws into those simply wanting to do good for those in need, Wallis began another campaign of hate. Imagine HIS surprise when the tables got turned on him by Beck and Wallis was exposed as nothing more than a marxist shill for the Obama One World Plan.

None of this worked. Glenn Beck consistently tops the ratings - not only at his tv timeslot -but in a head to head matchup against such "heavyweights" as Olberman. His live appearances sell out and his books still fly off the shelf. The radio show remains right in line behind Limbaugh and Hannity. Keep in mind that every single one of the individuals AND their organizations have direct ties to Obama. Impossible to pull a Sgt Shultz and claim "I know nuth-ing!" when the connections are obvious.

So now what? Well call in the mighty mite of Congress and use a House Dem to claim collusion and bilking of investers. Rep Anthony Weiner has deemed that having Goldline advertise on Glenn Beck's radio show while Glenn admits to using Goldline prior to bringing them aboard as advertisers (and still uses the company) is a matter for the SEC and FTC to investigate. I had no idea that it was against the law to support advertisers that pay for ad time on your show. Apparently Weiner is outraged that Glenn Beck would dare talk about his fears for our economy while having Goldline as an advertiser. What's next Mr. Weiner - calling for an investigation against Lifelock because they incite fear of identity theft? I imagine Mr. Weiner is going to shoot blood out of his eyeballs when he realizes that Freedom Works is now one of the advertisers on the radio show.

In all seriousness, this is serious. This makes FOUR - yes count 'em - FOUR- organizations/people attempting to shut Glenn Beck up (that we know of) connected to the White House. I hear no cries of "freedom of speech" from those quick to invoke it during the Bush Derangement Syndrome days of yore. Like most Progressive ideals, the idea of freedom of speech is only for the Left or when you say something that follows their party line. Can you imagine what fire and brimstone would be raining down if President George W. Bush had attempted to muzzle his critics??

We're quickly reaching the tipping point - the dreadful point of no return. We have a mainstream media that sits on its thumbs and refuses to report anything other than the talking points from the White House. We have an out of control administration that is not afraid to use thuggery and bribery to get their agenda passed. And now they are working their backsides off and pulling out all the stops to shut down dissenting opinions.

The one saving grace is that the Regular Joes and Marys of this country are starting to wake up. Unfortunately until the media grows a hairy pair and goes back to journalism 101, it is up to honorable men like Glenn Beck to continue to expose the charlatans in our midst. And up to use to have his back.

I LOVE Nascar. On any given Sunday afternoon from Feb to November you can find me parked in front of the tv watching the race (well at least for part of the day). I have been to several races and even the Daytona 500. Yes - I am a member of JR Nation.

So imagine my surprise to see a "Census 2010" car zipping around Atlanta Motor Speedway this past weekend. WTF? Turns out the Census Bureau spent $1.2 mil to sponsor Greg Biffle's #16 car for 3 races starting in Atlanta.

Now I appreciate the need to get the word out about the Census but this has truly gotten out of hand. First we had the $25mil Super Bowl ad that was beyond stupid. We've got Ed "Greenie" Begley doing some lame ads about a "picture of America" with some truly bad acting. Next we have the commercials where a man in his bathrobe compares mailing his census form in to saving his city - who knows how much that cost? Now this.

According to press releases, the Census will be doing some heavy advertising during March Madness and during the Dora the Explorer broadcasts also. Census officials claim that if people mail in their forms, it will save money and manpower by avoiding follow-up interviews. But wait - that means LESS JOBS for people that are in need of work (albeit temporary jobs).

The government is just throwing money down the crapper like there is no tomorrow. Billions of dollars thrown at pork-barrel projects and earmarks. Lord knows how much money we've spent keeping the Obama's in prime beef and pastries for their friends. And don't even get me started on the costs of healthcare reform... Now this massive ad campaign for the Census.

I know from experience that Nascar folks are some of the most patriotic, country loving people around. I doubt that many Nascar fans will be inspired to mail back their forms because Greg Biffle drove a Census Car in 3 races. I personally don't appreciate the government intruding in one of my favorite sports. What's next - campaign ads on the hoods?

Politically motivated criticism and unfounded fear-mongering only serve the goals of al-Qaeda.

Yes that is a direct quote from the op-ed. Disagree with how the Obama administration handled the panty-bomber and you are simply a "terrorist enabler". Brennan also called the fretting about civilian trials and mirandizing terrorists "absurd".

Well let me tell Mr. Brennan a thing or two about enabling terrorists - for 8 years we heard nothing but defeatism and Bush hatred from the Left. The late John Murtha was just one of the 1000's to spew venom about our fight against terrorism and our Military. The constant drumbeat of "failure" and "the war is lost" did nothing but bolster the confidence of al Qaeda. Despite the Left's best efforts, the Bush Administration was successful in keeping this country safe. Instead of sitting around with our thumbs up our ass for 8 years after repeated terrorist attacks, as we did during the Clinton years, we took the fight to the terrorists. Instead of treating people with no compunction for killing children for the sake of Jihad as simple criminals, we treated them as enemy combatants. If anyone dared to criticize the Dems or their attacks against the Military or the war on terror, shouts of "free speech" could be heard from the rooftops.

Now we have a President who apologizes for our country - even goes on his own little "world tour" to tell everyone how horrible our country has been to them. Yet this President goes AWOL for 3 days after an evil-doer attempts to bring down an airplane full of innocent people. Then when tough questions are asked, this administration can't even get its own story straight. First it was Obama calling the shots, then Holder said he took the reins and now we're supposed to believe it was thoroughly discussed by top officials before mirandizing the terrorist? It took President Obama longer than that to decide on a dog for his children...

In the words of our President - Let me be clear. If there is anyone aiding al Qaeda it is those that seek to undermine our efforts in the war against terrorism. The pure evil of the hearts of those that want to destroy us could care less about what political party is in power. They don't select their targets by political party. So instead of pointing fingers at everyone else, it is time for the President and his administration to "man up" and take the fight to the terrorists instead of his critics.

Mr. Brennan and the Obama adminstration may need "no lectures" but they need to get a clue.

John Murtha Has Died

Oh Boo-Freakin-Hoo... Brown wasn't exactly sworn in "early" - he was sworn in as soon as the election was validated. Frankly the stand-in Senator Kirk should have been shown the door the day after the election. He should not have been voting on ANY legislation after the Mass Special. THAT is what is a joke. Or better yet - that the Mass legislators took it upon themselves to change the law so the seat would remain safely in the hands of the Dems during the health care ram-job.

Forget the fact that Scott Brown's election was a message sent to Senate Dems with high urgency - do your job and listen to the people who put you in the "sacred" seat for a change. It was a message that Congress ignores the people at their own peril. It was a shout heard from the rooftops that we are mad as hell and we aren't going to take it anymore.

So when spoiled rich boys who get plum positions based only on their last name and the notoriousness of their sire start whining about fairness and people being a "joke", I just want to hurl all over my computer keyboard. May the next joke be on you Sen Patrick Kennedy in the form of a one-way ticket back home.

Here's the most controversial moment of the night. Obama calls out the Supreme Court during his speech and the Dems give him a standing ovation. A case of intimidation if I've ever seen one. Justice Alito, though, doesn't hold back and has his on "you lie" moment. You can see him shaking his head "no" and saying the words "not true". I knew I really liked Alito from the start.

I will not be watching the speech tonight. I have more important things to do like hanging with friends at a local sports bar and playing trivia. Even if I didn't have plans, I wouldn't watch because I've gotten a sneak peek at what he's going to say...

Who Gets Protection of Constitutional Rights - Terrorists or Blackwater?

Once again we have a debate about Constitutional Rights for terrorists versus American citizens. This latest round started with VP Biden's announcement in Iraq...

The U.S. will appeal a court decision dismissing manslaughter charges against five Blackwater Worldwide security contractors involved in a deadly 2007 Baghdad shooting, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden said Saturday.

The AP article goes on to express the Obama Administration's feelings about the dismissal of the charges...

Biden expressed his "personal regret" for the shooting and said the Obama administration was disappointed by the dismissal. "A dismissal is not an acquittal," he said.

"A dismissal is not an acquittal" - true enough BUT when the dismissal is brought about by the violation of the defendents' constitutional rights and exonerating evidence is withheld from the grand jury, then you have to wonder about the motivation to pursue an appeal. Keep in mind that this is the same administration that is allowing the prosecution of Navy Seals for alledgedly "hitting" the known mastermind of the Fallujah massacre of Blackwater employees. This is the same administration that is providing Constitutional Rights to Gitmo detainees by having their trials moved to US Courts instead of military tribunals and giving our rights to the Fruit-a-Kaboom bomber. Do Constitutional Rights only apply to terrorists now?

Reading through Judge Urbina's decision to dismiss the charges is like reading the story of a man off the street attempting to present a case to the US Supreme Court. Even the judge expressed his feelings towards the prosecution's actions...

(snip)In their zeal to bring charges against the defendants in this case, the prosecutors and investigators aggressively sought out statements the defendants had been compelled to make to government investigators in the immediate aftermath of the shooting and in the subsequent investigation.

(snip)The explanations offered by the prosecutors and investigators in an attempt to justify their actions and persuade the court that they did not use the defendants’ compelled testimony were all too often contradictory, unbelievable and lacking in credibility.

But there is so much more that is disturbing when you read through the entire 90 page decision - and you don't have to be an attorney to understand it. Here's just a few of the low-lights (you can read the whole decision here.)

The media's publishing of sworn statements and leaked documentation prior to the first Grand Jury Hearing.
The tainted testimony causing the cancellation of the first Grand Jury Hearing.
The use of one live witness who presented summarized evidence from the Iraqi witnesses at the second Grand Jury Hearing.
The use of summarized portions of the prior grand jury testimony and presented the second grand jury with redacted transcripts of the prior grand jury testimony of Frost, Murphy and Mealy (the 3 Blackwater employees who were listed as government witnesses)
The withholding from the second grand jury substantial exculpatory evidence that had been presented to the first grand jury despite DOJ guidelines requiring prosecutors to present exculpatory evidence to the grand jury. United States Attorneys’ Manual § 9-11.233
Using evidence summaries for the second grand jury which presented distorted versions of the testimony on which they were based.

And then there's the little tidbit thrown into one of the footnotes about the Assistant US attorney and one of the members of his team purchasing copies of the Blackwater haters manual - Blackwater – The Rise of the World’s Most Powerful Mercenary Army, by Jeremy Scahill. BUT - they didn't read it...

Despite the documentation of exculpatory evidence in the form of radio transmission transcripts and photos of the Blackwater vehicles with bullet holes in them, the administration is willing to sacrifice Americans lives to make the Iraqis "feel better" about us. How very "one world-ish" of them...

This whole case reeks of "Haditha-ism" - claims from "innocent civilians" of Texas shoot-out style behavior from the Americans while Iraqis just went about their business playing checkers and skipping rope on the street corners. And what is it with white Kia vehicles being involved in these incidents - same type of vehicle was at the heart of the Haditha investigation.

But not to worry - that bastion of anti-Americanism, the Center for Constitutional Rights, is helping the Iraqi "victims" file civil charges against the Blackwater team so they can at least get some monetary compensation for their loss. (insert HURL alert here). And we also have the obligatory "Bush's fault" claims - yes some actually claim that the Assistant US Attorney Kenneth Kohl deliberately spiked the case to get it thrown out since the Bush Administration did not look kindly on prosecution of its "mercenary army".

Yet the Obama Administration wants to pursue an appeal of the judge's decision... Will they be as vigorous when the Courts dismiss charges against Gitmo detainees for violation of their Constitutional Rights? Dear God let's hope so - but my gut tells me otherwise. After all that would go against everything this administration has done so far.

The next time VP Biden wants to bloviate about a court case, maybe he should read the Judge's Decision first. Then again having the facts first would go against Biden's natural inclination.

Not having the benefit of cable, I had to follow the MA election returns via Twitter and Facebook while getting my weekly dose of American Idol. Can I get a HOT DAMN? My Dad - ever the pessimist- when it comes to elections and beating the Dems, said this would never happen. Needless to say, I called him and said "Guess who won the election?" I think he fell outta his chair when I told him that Brown won.

The reaction across the Net is crazy - from "The Scott Heard Round the World" to "Great Scott". I haven't ventured over to the DUmp - just don't want to get icky since I've already had my shower.

Here are some tidbits from the Dems on this incredible victory for THE PEOPLE!

The White House's "official response"...

"This evening the President spoke to both candidates in the hard-fought Massachusetts Senate race. The President congratulated Senator Brown on his victory and a well-run campaign. The President told Senator Brown that he looks forward to working with him on the urgent economic challenges facing Massachusetts families and struggling families across our nation.
The President thanked Attorney General Coakley for her hard work and urged her to continue her advocacy on behalf of working people.”

And what a difference an election makes... Now even Barney Frank is singing a new tune (emphasis mine)...

“I have two reactions to the election in Massachusetts. One, I am disappointed. Two, I feel strongly that the Democratic majority in Congress must respect the process and make no effort to bypass the electoral results. If Martha Coakley had won, I believe we could have worked out a reasonable compromise between the House and Senate health care bills. But since Scott Brown has won and the Republicans now have 41 votes in the Senate, that approach is no longer appropriate. I am hopeful that some Republican Senators will be willing to discuss a revised version of health care reform because I do not think that the country would be well-served by the health care status quo. But our respect for democratic procedures must rule out any effort to pass a health care bill as if the Massachusetts election had not happened. Going forward, I hope there will be a serious effort to change the Senate rule which means that 59 votes are not enough to pass major legislation, but those are the rules by which the health care bill was considered, and it would be wrong to change them in the middle of the process.”

Gee - sounds so much more "bipartisan" since the election. Guess a serious ass-whipping makes you a little more humble (I know - I mentioned Barney Frank and ass-whipping in the same post). Wait a few days and we'll see more of Frank's spitting and sputtering I'm sure.

Brown's acceptance speech was awesome - threw in a couple of digs at the Dems and the Washington establishment and did have some nice comments about Ted Kennedy. I'm not going to post the speech here cause it is saturating the Internet as I type.

But the best line of the night goes to Rush Limbaugh via Andrew Breitbart - "This one's for you, Mary Jo".

While tonight is a great night for the people who value the Constitution and our Country, we can't let our guard down or slack off. The Libs will be pushing even harder to get their craptacular crap passed anyway they can. Plus we have a big election coming up in November that we have to get ready for.

But for tonight I just want to scream from the rooftops...

Nancy Pelosi was touring the countryside in a chauffeur-driven car. Suddenly, a cow jumps out into the road, they hit it full on, and the car comes to a stop. Nancy, in her usual charming manner, says to the chauffeur: 'You get out and check - you were driving.'

The chauffeur gets out, checks, and reports that the animal is dead but it was old.

The people of Haiti are in need of our prayers after today's earthquake and subsequent aftershocks. The few pictures that have come out are just horrendous. Here's one pic from a Haitian website...

The pics posted at the website linked above are definitely NOT for children - many are quite graphic. I'm sure as time passes and some type of communication is set up, the death toll will climb rapidly.

If you want to donate to the relief efforts, make sure that you are giving to a reputable charity. You know how scammers love to get their fishy hooks into crisis generosity. I recommend the Red Cross - but then again I'm a volunteer with them so who else would I recommend. The Red Cross has already pledged over $200,000 to Haitian relief efforts and have already started distributing supplies from their storage in Panama.

Happy New Year 2010

I am quite torn about seeing the year 2009 go away. It was only 6 days into the new year when my husband decided he no longer wanted to be married. So I'm sure you are thinking that I would be extremely happy to see this year end.

Well not quite. You see 2009 was quite a year of firsts for me. First time living alone. First time having to deal with a contested divorce. First time using a rotary lawn mower. First time (in years) having to pinch pennies and budget my money. First time I worked 2 1/2 jobs at a time. First time I was diagnosed with diabetes severe enough to require at least daily fingerstick blood sugars. First time I joined a trivia team. First time really focusing on my faith and all the blessings in my life. First tweet and first facebook post. First time I haven't seen my granddaughter in 6 months. First time taking the Homecare Diagnosis Coding Certification (passed with a 90 on the first try). First time I get to do what I want on New Years Eve. First time finding out that someone I considered a friend was nothing more than a lying POS. The list could go on and on...

2009 was also quite a year for blessings in my life. I reconnected with my parents in the most profound way - not only are they my parents but now they are my best friends. My kids and I are closer than ever. I have gotten to spend nothing but fun and play time with my grandson and watch him grow. I re-joined the church and renewed some long neglected friendships. I've made more friends that I truly love and trust. I am in a home that I love with landlords that are the best and in a quiet neighborhood with kind and thoughtful neighbors. I have just enough yard to "play in" without feeling overwhelmed. I have a wonderful job working for a great company that gives me opportunities to grow and learn. I started another blog - Discarded Spouses - so I can impart some of what I've learned to those that may be hurting. My cup literally overfloweth.

I have learned to love myself - just the way I am. I don't have to pretend to be something I'm not just to get along. I live according to my values which has brought me great peace. I have learned to love the quietness of living alone. I have learned that I am loved unconditionally and not just by God.

So while 2009 has turned out to be a good year despite it's dark beginning, I am looking forward to 2010 and all that it may bring.

If You Can't Act Presidential, At Least Look Presidential

I am so far away from being a fashion critic - give me a pair of jeans and a tshirt and I'm happy - but Obama's attire the past few days has really stuck in my craw.

Okay - so you wait 3 days before you address the nation about the attempted terrorist attack. So you use the words "allegedly" to describe the terrorist lighting his ass on fire. You describe this terrorist as "an isolated extremist". You claim that you will not rest until everyone involved has been captured yet you spent the day on the golf course - again.

I'm willing to overlook the absolute lack of concern or worry demonstrated by the President - for now. Let's face it - his little speech on Monday was absolutely lackluster and lacked any credible emotion. Even Robert David Jaffe over at HuffPo thought so. Here's a snip of what he wrote...

"Obama's lack of animation and fire in delivering the speech, to say nothing of his burdening the American people with an outsize role in the fight against terror, showed a shocking disconnect following an attempted terrorist attack."

What I'm not willing to overlook is the way the President choose to dress for such a serious situation. Open shirt with no tie - what did he think he was doing? Going for cocktails down at the club? Jeez Louise - put on a tie at least. At least give the appearance of giving a crap. By dressing down for the statement, Obama gave the impression that this was "no big deal" - no amount of fancy words would have made a difference. People's first impression is visual - and the impression we got was a man who had his vacation interrupted by a pesky firestarter.

I've complained about Obama's inability to act like a President - which was only reinforced by his speech on Monday. But at the very least, he could attempt to look Presidential - especially when discussing the safety and security of the people he took an oath to protect.

The Day After Chistmas

All I can say is WOW - what a holiday! This was one of the best Christmas' I have ever had - I don't think I have ever laughed so hard in my life! This Christmas was proof that you don't need a lot of money to have a wonderful holiday - all it takes is love and laughter.

For the first time in 10 years, I had an absolute relaxing and enjoyable Christmas Eve. There were no arguments about TheColdOne having to get home to have a drink with his sons - who usually didn't bother to show up. No one fell asleep during the opening of gifts because they had been "playing" too hard with their friends at the local skank house bar and grill. No bitchin' and moanin' about moodiness or stress - which there was none of this year. Since TheColdOne was the only person missing this year, I guess they were the source of all the mood swings and stress.

The Christmas Eve service was beautiful and really reminded me of what Christmas is all about. The sermon was about the "new beginning" that Christmas was and that's what this whole year has been for me - one giant new beginning and a massive about of happiness & laughter.

I will cherish the memories of this Christmas and all the fun & love. Plus since my son gave me a new camera for Christmas, I'll have plenty of pictures and videos to remember it all!

GA Gov Joins the Fray Over Obamacare

GA Governor Sonny Perdue has asked that GA Attorny General Thurbert Baker join with his colleagues from other states in demanding a review of the constitutionality of the health care reform bill.

Here's a snip from the letter...

Yesterday, seven Attorneys General from across the country confirmed that they are looking at the constitutionality of these special deals. As I have considerable concerns over the constitutionality of these recent actions, I respectfully request that you join your colleagues from Alabama, Colorado, Michigan, North Dakota, South Carolina, Texas and Washington state in investigating the constitutionality of these special exemptions in the health care legislation and explore the availability of any legal challenges that Georgia could pursue to oppose this unconscionable scenario.

Congress appears to be on the cusp of making a decision that will have ripple effects for decades to come. Now is the time to ensure that any decision that is made has been thoroughly vetted and deemed to meet the intent and spirit of our country’s Constitution.

Will continue to watch this closely. I am proud of Gov Perdue for taking a stand for Georgians and the Constitution.

Tiger and Obama - It's All About Branding

I'll admit it - I have been following the whole "Tiger Woods is a Skank Chasing Cheater" saga since Fox News broke in with the "Tiger Woods Seriously Injured in Car Accident" headline. It is such a letdown when someone you admire turns out to be not just human but a cretin also. Unfortunately his wife and children will be the ones to suffer.

In the meantime, there is a GREAT Article by Lisa Schiffren over at American Thinker -Tiger, Barack, and the Law of Transitivity. Schiffren compares the marketing strategies used by Tiger's camp over the years and the Obama campaign's use of the same tactics. It is truly a must read but here is a snip that really struck me...

Ultimately, Woods is an exceptional golfer with a character problem. Barack Obama, by contrast, is not an exceptional, or even particularly competent, leader. But because so many politicians, interest groups and factions have an interest in his continued presence, no one is ready to reveal the man behind the curtain just yet.

One of the commenters posted this blurb from an April 2009 interview with Desiree Rogers in the Wall Street Journal and it really drives home the point of how the Obama "mystique" was nothing more than a slick marketing ploy...

" ‘We have the best brand on Earth: the Obama brand,’ Rogers says. ‘Our possibilities are endless.' With her direct access to the first couple and unparalleled connections to White House staff, as well as D.C. and Chicago power brokers, Rogers is considered by many to be the key to Brand Obama. Mrs. Obama’s press team manages a media blitz that includes cover shots on People, Vogue and Oprah’s O magazine, among others, while Rogers controls the day-to-day development and execution of the brand. The former marketing executive must create a White House that helps Americans visualize Mr. Obama’s campaign promises of change and transparency."

Unfortunately those blinded by the great marketing scam have saddled our country with a President who is doing his best to destroy this country and usurp our Constitution. Fortunately for those of us that love our country, the koolaid's effects are starting to wear off and people are coming out of their Obama-coma. Hopefully the ship can be righted before it takes on too much water.

Gibbs Throws SecDef Gates Under the Bus

Something about Robert Gibbs just makes me smile - maybe it's his unique way of showing what an ignorant fool he is or perhaps it's because he demonstrates every day what an ass he really is.

While attempting to be glib and get another dig at the Bush Administration, Gibbs threw Obama's own Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates, under the bus... (Courtesy of RedState)

Robert Gibbs cheerfully responded to Donald Rumsfeld’s denial that he’d denied troops to Afghanistan with, first, a clarification that Obama had been talking about the post-Rumsfeld era of 2008.

…”I will let Secretary Rumsfeld explain” whether the war in Afghanistan “was sufficiently resourced during his tenure” … and how he thinks “history will judge whether they were or were not sufficient,” Gibbs said.

Gibbs quipped: “You go to war with the secretary of Defense that you have.” (emphasis mine)

Whoo-Wee - now that's a knee slapper. Dontcha love how he turned Rummy's own words back on him? Wait - rewind and rethink...

ROBERT GATES was the Secretary of Defense after Rumsfeld. Who is the Obama Administration's Secretary of Defense? ROBERT GATES! So is Gibbs saying the their own SecDef dropped the ball on Afghanistan and is still running the show?

My Thanksgiving List

Today is my 48th Thanksgiving on this earth. Out of all the Thanksgivings that I've celebrated, this has to rank as the number 1 year that I have so much to be thankful for.

Of course I am so very thankful for my family, my friends, my home, God and being an American. But this year I have some special things to be thankful for...

I am so thankful that God gave me the strength to fight back - to not let my enemies destroy me - mentally or physically. The battle has not only given me strength, it's given me courage and the knowledge that I AM better than those that have done their utmost to break me.

I am so thankful that I work as a RN and can find extra work when I need it. In these horrific economic times, I have been able to supplement my income in order to pay my bills without relying on someone else. It's been quite liberating to realize that I CAN do it.

I am so very thankful for my landlords. They took a chance on a beaten and broken (and broke) woman who had no where to go. This has given me the opportunity to grow and learn to live again in such a comfortable and cozy environment.

I am so very thankful for the silence and joy of living alone. I was almost as scared of this as anything else in my life but have come to relish the peace. And I'm no longer afraid of the dark. Thanks to a couple of close encounters with snakes in my yard, I'm even learning to not be so damned scared.

I am so very thankful that everytime I felt like throwing in the towel, God sent something or someone into my life to make me realize that I am a unique person with special gifts who is loved unconditionally. Little did I know how much a weekly game of Live Trivia at a sports bar would bring so much joy into my life.

I am so very thankful for the little things that I used to take for granted. A cardinal perched on my birdfeeder, a bloom from an Amaryllis that I replanted from my grandma's house, grass starting to fill in the bare spot in my front yard, a queen sized bed, candles, bill paying, going to the library, spending time with my parents, crawling on the floor or getting soaked with the waterhose by my grandson, sitting on my front porch, watching movies with my daughter, drinking a beer with my son, cutting my grass, washing my car, the list is endless.

Most of all, I am so very thankful that God intervened in my life and kept me from destroying my life and my family. If not for that intervention, I would not be able to say thank you and have my first peaceful Thanksgiving in years.

SIGH - Senate Votes to Begin Debate on Healthcare Monstrosity

Yep - the Dems did it. They all decided to vote yes to begin debate on the healthcare fiasco - even Lieberman. I don't care how they try to spin their votes, this vote just made it easier for Harry and the rest of the Obama-koolaid swillers to push this crap on through. The claims of "It was only a vote to begin the debate" fall right in line with Kerry's famous "I was for it before I was against it" stupidity.

How much payola did it take for Sen. Mary Landrieu to drop to her knees to service the DNC? Not the paltry $100 million that was reported Friday... it was $300 million - and she's DAMN proud of it..

“I will correct something. It’s not $100 million, it’s $300 million, and I’m proud of it and will keep fighting for it,” Landrieu told reporters after her floor speech. “But that is not why I started this health care debate; I started this health care debate for all the reasons I just mentioned in my statement” on the floor.

After all the $$ funneled to Louisiana under the heading of "Katrina Recovery" this $300 million is just another slap in the face of every taxpaying American. So Landrieu whores herself out for $300 mil to Pimpmasters Reid and Obama...

There are times when I read or hear the news that I just want to pinch myself to see if I'm having a really really bad dream. Since Obama was elected it seems like the need to click my ruby slippers and return "home" is a daily event.

For instance, Code Pink founder Jodie Evans recently made a little trip to Afghanistan as part of Code Pink's "No terrorist left behind" program. The "girls" posted blurbs about their trip over at the Code Pink site and various lefty blogs. But it seems like they left out one little tidbit about the trip. The meeting with the Taliban took place just weeks before Evans was videotaped directly handing to President Barack Obama a package of information about her trip to Afghanistan at a high dollar fundraiser in San Francisco...

The meeting with the Taliban was kept secret by Evans and her group Code Pink in reports she and the group posted from Kabul and in interviews with the media and bloggers about the trip. Fonda, a close friend of Evans, let the secret meeting slip in an account of her dinner with Evans at a fundraiser for the Armand Hammer Museum in Los Angeles:

Last Saturday, My dear friends Jodie Evans and Max Palevsky, invited Richard and me to join them at their table at a fundraiser at the Armand Hammer Museum in Westwood. It was a good evening for lots of reasons. I had never been to the museum and definitely want to go back. Clearly it is a courageous place, very cutting edge. Then, too, I saw lots of friends I hadn’t seen in a long time and I sat next to Jodie who told me a little about her recent trip to Afghanistan with an American delegation that included a retired colonel, and member the State Department (Army Reserves Col. While there, she met with people ranging from the brother of President Karzai, Afghan members of Parliament, activists, to warlords and members of the Taliban (emphasis added.) Obama is still dithering on how many troops (if any) to send to Afghanistan in response to Gen. McChrystal's request while American blood is still being shed. Then goes to Dover for a photo-op with heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice with a half-assed salute that is more of an insult than a tribute.

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE??

But don't worry - Obama will be at the Memorial Service for the Ft. Hood victims and the teleprompter in chief will make sure he doesn't give any shout-outs before his memorial speech.

It's a wonder that Obama isn't struck by lightning every time he mentions his "compassion" and "gratitude" for the members of our Military. Heck, it's a wonder Obama isn't struck by lightning every time he opens his mouth since nothing but lies come out of that velvet throated maw.

I've heard several people call in to radio shows over the past week telling stories about hospitals and MD offices reporting all flu as H1N1. I thought it was just a matter of a failure in communication - until I read the CDC's reports about how they are monitoring influenza activity...

From the CDC's website - Monitoring Influenza Activity, Including 2009 H1N1 - Q & A dated 9/11/09 (emphasis mine)...
"This season, CDC and states will continue surveillance for flu-related hospitalizations and deaths, but the system has been modified to combine all influenza and pneumonia-associated hospitalizations and deaths and not just those due to H1N1. This is a new system in place effective August 30, 2009, that will be used to monitor trends in hospitalizations and deaths. CDC believes this system will provid a fuller picture of the burden of serious flu illness and deaths during this pandemic."

Hmmm - provide a fuller picture? Like maybe having the numbers thrown into one big pot and then reporting them as H1N1 to increase the fear factor?

Thinking that maybe this little blurb was just a "lack of clear communication" I kept reading the report. Here's a synopsis of the reasons for the CDC's change in reporting... (emphasis mine)

"CDC believes that regular seasonal influenza viruses will co-circulae with 2009 H1N1 influenza... There are too many cases of flu to test and confirm so laboratory-confirmed data is a vast underestimate of the true number of cases and this bias would be exacerbated over the course of the pandemic as more and more people become ill...Influenza and pneumonia syndrome is a diagnostic code used by all hospitals."

My summary - too many cases to test individually so let's just lump all flu related symptoms and illnesses together so the numbers justify the administration's claims of a national emergency. How better to attempt to sucker koolaid sippers into supporting Obamacare?

Interesting little tidbit tossed in there about "diagnostic codes". Diagnosis codes are used to bill for medical care. There must be a diagnosis code on every single bill submitted to insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, etc. These codes may or may not be specifically assigned by a MD. Most of the time a MD gives a general description and a certified coder determines the right 3 to 5 digit number to use. How many times have you been to the doctor with fever, aches and sore throat only to be told you have the "flu" without any specific test? The diagnosis code used to bill for the visit would be for Influenza. If you were so ill that you required hospitalization, the MD office would notify the hospital that your reason for admission is "influenza". You would then become one of the CDC's statistics for reporting purposes of hospitalized influenza cases.

Even if you were hospitalized for dehydration due to fever and nausea/vomiting, if the MD said it was because of the "flu", you would still be one of those cases reported to the CDC. There is no testing required to become a statistic for the CDC - only a 3-5 digit diagnosis code.

Here's how the CDC puts it... (emphasis mine)
"The CDC has asked states to report either laboratory confirmed hospitalizations and deaths or syndromic cases, i.e. cases of presumed influenza and/or pneumonia based on ICD-9 coded hospitalizations or death reports."

Multiple times in this same CDC document, you can read this statement...
"Due to CDC's new case definitions, there will be no definitive way to differentiate between hospitalizations and deaths due to seaonal influenza versus those due to 2009 H1N1 influenza from aggregate reporting. And some deaths that are not due to influenza specifically will be included."

Next time you hear a TV anchor claim "Deaths due to H1N1 are rising according to the CDC" take the report with a grain of salt. Better yet, add a little tequila and margarita mix to the salt and re-read the CDC's guidelines for reporting.

But don't worry if those statistics used to scare you into standing in line for 2 hours to get a Swine Flu vaccine seem over the top - the CDC promises that "the numbers generated by this system will be cross-checked periodically against modeling studies to estimate accuracy".

WHEW - I feel better now, don't you?

Cheney Exposes Obama Administration Liars

I love Dick Cheney. He pulls no punches and lets everyone know what he's thinking and believes. Cheney has now exposed the lies from the Obama Administration regarding the Afghanistan mess...

Cheney disputed remarks by White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel that the Bush administration had been adrift concerning the war in Afghanistan and that the Obama administration had to start from the beginning to develop a strategy for the 8-year-old war.

To the contrary, Cheney said, the Bush administration undertook its own review of the war before leaving office and presented its findings to Obama's transition team.

"They asked us not to announce our findings publicly, and we agreed, giving them the benefit of our work and the benefit of the doubt," Cheney said. The strategy Obama announced in March bore a "striking resemblance" to what the Bush administration review had found, the vice president said.

Emanuel told CNN on Sunday that the decision regarding what to do in Afghanistan is more complex than whether to send more troops. The U.S. commander there, Gen. Stanley McChrystal, has reportedly asked for as many as 40,000 additional troops to combat the Taliban insurgency and al-Qaida fighters.

"When you go through all the analysis, it's clear that basically we had a war for eight years that was going on, that's adrift, that we're beginning at scratch, and just from the starting point, after eight years," Emanuel said.

Cheney said the Obama administration seems to be pulling back and blaming others for its own failure to implement the strategy it had embraced earlier in the year.

"The White House must stop dithering while America's armed forces are in danger," the former vice president said. "It's time for President Obama to do what it takes to win a war he has repeatedly and rightly called a war of necessity."

Of course the media will downplay this (if they even report this at all) because it might make Dear Leader angry.

While Obama twiddles his thumbs, our military heroes are fighting in a war. While Obama visits an elementary school and attends $20,000/plate fundraisers, our military heroes are taking it to the Taliban. While Michelle participates in hula-hoop contests while wearing the dreaded "boob belt", we have military heroes dying while doing their job.

All because Obama's favorite for President of Afghanistan didn't win the election, despite Carville's expert assistance. The blood of every military hero that has died since McChrystal's report was issued is on Obama's hands. Let's see if CodePink and their ilk protest this...

It's All About "Industrial Transformation"

Everyone has been trying to figure out how all the pieces of legislation and action taken by the Obama Administration fit together. While doing some research tonight, I came across an article from January 2006 that clears away most of the fog and literally scares the hell out of me.

Remember the Apollo Alliance? Yes the group that Harry Reid credited with helping to develop the stimulus bill. According to the article “Apollo Now”, the stimulus bill has been in the works since January 2006. Using the levee failure as a metaphor for all that was “failing” in America; the Apollo Alliance unveiled a plan to “move the country in a new direction – to inspire a generational shift in thinking that could launch a new era of fundamental reforms.” Sounds a lot like Obama’s “remaking America idea”, huh?

It gets worse. The article states that in order to transform the American industrial system and mass consumption economy, the “collision between industrial society and nature” must be eliminated. How do they plan on eliminating this blockage? By reinventing the processes of production and redesigning virtually every product. It’s called “Industrial Transformation”. All this global warming, green jobs, renewable energy hoopla is nothing more than a smokescreen for the progressives. This is the one way they can take over the Industrial sector of the USA and claim it was to “save the planet”.

How does the Apollo Alliance plan on getting the country to make this shift without kicking and screaming? By “fusing the ecological imperative with economic outcomes” – hence the Stimulus Bill.

Remember how we were all perplexed about all of the “green initiatives” in the Stimulus Bill? How we scratched our heads at the focus on infrastructure and alternative modes of transportation, like high speed rail? Look no further than this article…

“…the Apollo proposal calls for a ten year, $300 billion investment agenda – federal financing to foster development of alternative fuels, innovative eco firms and energy-conserving reforms in housing, green building codes, transportation and other realms. These investments, analysts estimate, would generate 3.3 million new jobs”

I imagine it is just a coincidence that the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act promised to “save or create 3.5 million jobs”. And it certainly doesn’t mean anything when the ARRA put forward a huge chunk ($41,400,000,000) towards “energy”.

There were other ideas thrown into the mix including modernizing the electrical grid, high-efficiency vehicles, rapid transit and regional rail networks. You get the picture. But there was one other little piece of the plan that made goose bumps pop up on my arms – “the investments would be accompanied by STRONGER REGULATORY PROTECTIONS to make sure the subsidies produce real results.” Can anyone say Cass Sunstein???

The Apollo Alliance envisions the US adopting a “take back” policy on the order of the EU’s policy initiative. European auto manufacturers would be required to “take back” their old vehicles and recover 85% of the content, reformulating the materials for use in new cars and other products. This is where the takeover of the automobile industry fits into the puzzle. By owning the companies, the government can ensure that the “take back” policy is enforced. Could it be that “Cash for Clunkers” was a precursor to our own “take back” policy?

And how about all those campaigns against “big corporations” to adopt higher ecological standards in their products and business? A baby step toward “industrial transformation”.

How can this transformation take hold especially with the Unions? Oh have no fear; the Apollo Alliance has already covered that. This plan “removed the wedge between environmentalists and labor unions by focusing on the job-creating aspects of a clean-energy investment policy.” Remember – it’s all in the words. Plus it doesn’t hurt that several Union leaders serve on the board of the Apollo Alliance.

Head spinning yet? Read the whole article for yourself. It will be like a punch in the gut. The good news is that we now see the bigger picture – maybe not the whole picture but a lot less fog than earlier.

I Guess I Am A Racist

According to Jimmy Carter, Maxine Waters and an assortment of talking heads & "progressives", if you oppose President Obama you are a racist. I have never thought of myself as a racist before - I don't look at people's skin color as an indication of what type of person they are. I prefer to judge people by their words and their actions. But all this talk of dissent being racist has made me rethink my feelings...

I vehemently oppose any public option health care or any other type of government intrusion into my medical care. I guess that makes me a racist.

Using my tax money to pay for an abortion is abhorrent to me. Call me a racist.

I think the government needs to stay the heck out of the car business, the bank business and the student loan business. Add another point for my racist attitude.

I have been a nurse for 28 years and have worked very hard to get where I am today. I don't want my money to subsidize others who prefer to sit on their butts and wait for a handout. Oops - racist again.

I love my country and believe that our Constitution is the bedrock of our nation. I will fight with my last breath to defend the Constitution and all that it stands for. I guess I am a racist.

I believe in capitalism and letting the free market work. I believe that socialism, communism or any other "-ism" the progressives choose to throw out there are a direct violation of our Constitution and will have our founding fathers spinning in their graves. Chalk up another racist violation for me.

I believe that sitting in a church listening to a "preacher" denigrate the USA and "white" Americans or paling around with someone who thought bombing the Pentagon was a good idea is evidence of the kind of person you truly are in your heart. Well.... call me a racist.

I shun any attempt at politically correct speech including the banning of the words "liar", "sexual misconduct", etc on the House Floor and believe it is another attempt to stifle Free Speech and dissent. Another racist belief...

I want my children, my grandchildren, my great-grandchildren, et. al to grow up enjoying all the freedoms that come with being an American and not having to work until they are 92 to pay off our tax debt. Yep - that's racist.

So go ahead Maxine and Jimmy - call me a racist and have me investigated for my "fringe" beliefs. I am not afraid of you or your brownshirted thugs welding batons in front of polling places. If it means that I operate on a different level of morals and values from you then I take it as a compliment.

WH Admits That Rep Joe Wilson Was Right

Well they didn't come out and say so in so many words but reading their latest talking points on healthcare reform and illegal immigrants sure makes it sound like it. This is from MSNBC which means it came straight from the horses' ass...

Today, for the first time as far as we know, the administration is backing a provision that would require proof of citizenship before someone could enroll in a plan selected on the exchange

Here's the WH "bullet points". Pay real close attention to bullet point number 2 because someone slipped up and admitted to another lie the WH has been spreading...

• Undocumented immigrants would not be able to buy private insurance on the exchange. Those who are lawfully present in this country would be able to participate.

• Undocumented immigrants would be able to buy insurance in the non-exchange private market, just as they do today. That market will shrink as the exchange takes hold, but it will still exist and will be subject to reforms such as the bans on pre-existing conditions and caps.

• Verification will be required when purchasing health insurance on the exchange. One option is the SAVE program (Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements) which states currently use to make sure that undocumented immigrants don't participate in safety-net programs for which they are ineligible.

• There would be no change in the law that requires emergency rooms to treat people who need emergency care, including undocumented immigrants. There is already a federal grant program that compensates states for emergency room costs associated with treatment of undocumented immigrants, a provision sponsored by a Republican lawmaker.

Feel better about the healthcare bill? Well except there is no actual bill and all amendments put forth by the GOP to have verification requirements inserted have been smacked down by the Dems. Not to mention the chances of a 300+ page amendment released at 3am before the vote.

And what about that "federal grant" to compensate states for ER costs? News to me. We just had a major brouhaha here in GA with the potential closure of 2 of our largest trauma centers due to lack of funds attributed to the high cost of indigent care which included a large number of illegal aliens.

Now... did you catch the part where the White House admitted that they lied about another very important part of their healthcare reform?

Sure they say "it" will still exist but how long can it stay competitive when the government is footing the bill for the members of the "exchange" (or should I say "taxpayers are footing the bill")? Remember Dear Leader is on the record stating that he wanted single payer coverage and that was his goal in healthcare reform.

I guess whoever put this White House talking point memo together was overwhelmed with the document/news dump on a Friday afternoon - agreeing to meet with Iran, agreeing to meet with North Korea bypassing the 6 party talks, increased trade tariffs on China and the Census dumping ACORN.

Meanwhile Nancy and her comrades are looking to make Rep Joe Wilson grovel at their feet for actually voicing opposition to The One while Charlie Rangel counts his private stash of non-reported taxable income. Yeah no hypocrisy there - snort-

Such proposals are the kind of health care reform that Republicans stand for: market-oriented, patient-centered, and result-driven.

The White House talking points leave the rest of my arguments unanswered. They don't respond to the idea that all individuals should get the same tax benefits received by those who get coverage through their employers; that we must reform our tort laws; and that we should allow Americans to buy insurance across state lines. The White House also fails to respond to the Nyce/Schieber study indicating that wages will fall if the government expands coverage without reducing health care inflation rates.

One last thing: after President Obama's speech tonight, listen for which pundits use the words "false", "scary", and "risky" in describing the proposals I put forward. That's how you'll be able to tell who the White House counted as "allies" worthy of receiving its talking points.

Olberman Asks KOS Kidz For Help in Taking Down Glenn Beck

Now that Van Jones has "resigned" and the Left realizes that Obama's idea of "I got your back" is to back the bus over you, they are grasping at straws to turn the tide. One of those tossing out straws is Keith Olbermann -and he's asking the Kidz at the KOS asylum for help...

I don't know why I've got this phrasing in my head, but: Find everything you can about Glenn Beck, Stu Burguiere, and Roger Ailes.

Tuesday we will expand this to the television audience and have a dedicated email address to accept leads, tips, contacts, on Beck, his radio producer Burguiere, and the chief of his tv enablers, Ailes (even though Ailes' power was desperately undercut when he failed to pull off his phony "truce" push).

Funny thing though - I think this is less about true outrage and more about trying to boost his dismal basement ratings. All his blather about O'Reilly boosted his ratings up slightly (instead of 10 viewers, he had 13) and we all know it's simply a ratings game. This little plan of Olby's has one major flaw - people will have to watch and listen to Beck's shows in order to try to get "dirt" or a quote they can take out of context which will in turn drive up Beck's already monstrous ratings. HAHA - jokes on you guys...

Seriously though - after all these years what could possibly be left to uncover about Glenn Beck? He's been quite open about his alcoholism and his slide into darkness several years ago. He's also been quite forthcoming about his conversion to Mormonism and his faith. Media Matters has been up Glenn's butt for so long that anything that could be taken out of context has long ago been used against him (for instance see this post over at KOS for a rundown of Media Matters stuff on Beck). Colbert and Stewart mock him almost nightly. Heck, Glenn even mocks his own self. Oh yeah - police reports with the name of the suspect listed as "Glenn Beck" with no backup or facts associated with it don't count - okay Kidz?

Read through the comments on Olberman's post over at KOS. It's quite funny and enlightening at the same time. Should they or shouldn't they go after Beck's religion? Should they get personal or stick with just his on-air statements? How about a boycott of his book signings? Better yet -they should get Beck's address and post a map to it online. Yeah - that'll work...

So what can you post about someone? Seriously, because i was able to look up the phone number for Beck, but it was unlisted. It did however give me an address which gave me a location to imput into bing maps (or google maps) and see a nice overhead shot of that location.

But my all time favorite tip for taking down Beck was the boycott of all things FOX... which was okay until the sports fans realized that this meant Fox Sports also. It's one thing to demand the head of someone opposed to your cause but another thing entirely to let it interfere with football season...

The Hits From Van Jones Just Keep on Coming (and you thought Rev Wright was bad)

Man this guy Van Jones is just a plethora of racist rants, anti-American speils and giver of love to Cop Killers... The Internet has just exploded with videos of this moron spitting out his version of black liberation theology. If you close your eyes when watching any of the videos, you could swear it was Rev. Wright talking.

The avowed Communist was enough but now we are finding out that this Czar is truly a member of the way out there left. From comparing President Bush to a "crackhead trying to lick the last bit of crack from a crack pipe" to pontificating about how "only white kids shoot up schools Columbine style" to "fighting back against America's global military system", it just keeps a rollin' on. Breitbart TV has done a great job of pulling videos together and many can also be found on YouTube. I thought about posting them here but I'd have to do about 15 separate posts to accomodate all his stupidity.

But here is one video about Van Jones that I will post - it's one of THE Valerie Jarrett - the female version of Karl Rove for Obama - praising Van Jones. It's going to be hard to fit him under the bus after Jarrett talks about "following him since Oakland"...

As much as I despire Van Jones and all the hatred & baggage he brings into OUR White House, it will be sad to see him go for the last ride under the bus. He's been such a font of blog topics that it will seem kinda boring. Oh well I guess we'll just have to do some more digging on one of the other Czars.

BTW kudos to Glenn Beck for having the brass cajones to stand up and expose this lying communist for all he is worth. The media tries to paint Glenn's sleuthing as payback for the Color of Change/Van Jones' inspired boycott of Beck's show. What they fail to mention is that Beck was after Van Jones long before the boycott and I believe the "Obama is a racist" hoopla was simply an excuse for Van Jones and his comrades to try to take down Glenn. Bit off a little bit more than you could chew eh Van Jones & company?

While researching the proposal for Universal Health Care (AKA Obamacare) on the Internet, I came across the following...

I suppose you are wondering why I am posting a typical rationale espoused by the supporters of Obamacare as "news". I'm sure you are saying "yeah yeah yeah - same old tired rhetoric".

Well it's more "tired" that you think... The information is from an introduction to the article, "National Health Insurance: Telling the Good from the Bad". The article was written by Rashi Fein PhD. The introduction was written by Joanne E. Lukomnik, MD and Leonard Rodberg.

Okay - so what? The article was posted on the Democratic Socialists of America website in NOVEMBER 1998! The article itself was published in Dissent Magazine in the Spring of 1992. I had to use the wayback machine to find the article but thanks to archiving of Internet webpages, you can still read it.

So if the same arguments for Obamacare have been around since 1992, why is it such a crisis now? Not to mention the ICK factor of having it come from the Democratic Socialists of America. Some comfort to know that our President and his comrades are relying on arguments from 1992 Socialists in order to "transform" our country.

The next time someone starts in with the rhetoric about why we are in a health care crisis, tell them you heard it back in 1992. Then ask what the rush is. Of course you must throw in a zinger about repeating the DSA party line also. It just wouldn't be right to forget to point that out.

The Las Vegas Review Journal got a taste of the absolute arrogance and moral corruption of Dem leader Harry Reid this week...

On Wednesday, before he addressed a Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce luncheon, Reid joined the chamber's board members for a meet-'n'-greet and a photo. One of the last in line was the Review-Journal's director of advertising, Bob Brown, a hard-working Nevadan who toils every day on behalf of advertisers. He has nothing to do with news coverage or the opinion pages of the Review-Journal.

Yet, as Bob shook hands with our senior U.S. senator in what should have been nothing but a gracious business setting, Reid said: "I hope you go out of business."

Later, in his public speech, Reid said he wanted to let everyone know that he wants the Review-Journal to continue selling advertising because the Las Vegas Sun is delivered inside the Review-Journal.

So today the Review Journal fired back at this snake in the grass...

We're still here doing what we do for the people of Las Vegas and Nevada. So, let me assure you, if we weathered all of that, we can damn sure outlast the bully threats of Sen. Harry Reid.

They lit into Reid for his bullying tactics...

But to fully capture the magnitude of Reid's remark (and to stop him from doing the same thing to others) it must be called what it was -- a full-on threat perpetrated by a bully who has forgotten that he was elected to office to protect Nevadans, not sound like he's shaking them down

BUT... blow secondhand smoke at a suspected terrorist suspect during an interrogation and get investigated by a Special Prosecutor courtesy of AG Holder???? Rev up a power drill near a blindfolded terrorist and go to jail? Threaten to kill the family of a terrorist responsible for killing over 3000 Americans on 9/11/01 and get frog-marched??

I don't know about you but every day brings another travesty committed by the egotistical radical that was elected our President. I shudder to think what our country is going to look like after 4 years of this ineptitude and marxism.

AND where are all those bleeding hearts who gnashed their teeth and tore their clothes at the damage to the CIA ala the "outing" of Valerie Plame? Where are those members of VIPS who called for the head of Karl Rove and Dick Cheney? Aren't they just as outraged about our President tying the hands of the CIA and possibly inflicting damage that will never be undone in regards to intelligence gathering? Doesn't THIS warrant some outrage on their part or is it "no biggie" because it's coming at the hands of the One?

When (and according to the 9/11 Commission it IS a matter of WHEN and not IF) there is another terrorist attack against my country, I will be pointing the finger of blame at Obama and especially AG Eric Holder. Destroying Our Ability to Gain Intelligence

I don't know of anything that waves a white flag to our enemies more than the public recriminations and denouncements of "harsh" interrogation techniques used to prevent another 9/11 attack on our soil (well other than the closing of Gitmo and reading detainees Miranda Rights on the battlefield). Now we have the most incompetent administration ever attempting to divert attention from the Obamacare fiasco by naming a Special Prosecutor to investigate "harsh" interrogation techniques.

Here's a few of the "harsh" techniques... Warning these descriptions are graphic and may cause you to vomit (at the thought of them being called "harsh")... From the WSJ... Please note the actions that were taken to prevent such events from occuring again and that an interrogation officer was sentenced to prison in the death of a detainee...

Date: July 2002
Incident: An operations officer put both hands on a shackled detainee's neck to restrict his carotid artery until the detainee was on the verge of passing out. The officer repeated the process three times.
Result: CIA officials were informed of the incident, but its severity "was disputed." Guidelines were put out notifying interrogators use of such pressure points was not authorized.

Date: September and October 2002
Incident: Interrogators staged a "mock execution," in which a gun was fired outside an interrogation room and a guard was dressed up to look like a dead detainee. A similar incident occurred a month or two later.
Result: Report makes no mention of any steps taken after findings.

Date: October 2002
Incident: An officer blew smoke from either a thin cigarette or cigar at a detainee's face for about five minutes, apparently to make the detainee ill.
Result: Report makes no mention of any steps taken after findings.

Date: Late July to early August 2002
Incident: An officer requested approval for the ability to use cold as an interrogation technique. Later, a cable reported a detainee was left in a cold room, shackled and naked, until cooperative; other reports of cold showers.
Result: Subsequent CIA medical guidelines detailed safe temperature ranges when a detainee is wet or unclothed.

Date: April and May 2003
Incident: Permission sought for "water dousing," in which detainees lay on a plastic sheet and water is poured on them for 10 to 15 minutes. The technique was reportedly used several times.
Result: Interrogators instructed to lay detainees on a towel or sheet and room temperature must exceed 65 degrees if the detainee was not immediately dried. Subsequent medical guidelines list "water dousing" as approved measure.

Date: June 2003
Incident: Afghan implicated in a rocket attack severely beaten by a CIA contractor; days later, the Afghan died.
Result: The contractor, David A. Passaro, sentenced to eight years in prison in 2007.
Date: July 2003

Incident: An officer hit a teacher at a religious school twice with the butt of his rifle in front of 200 students during an investigation of a roadside bomb attack. The teacher, who was hit twice after he "reportedly smiled and laughed inappropriately," was uninjured.
Result: The officer was returned to headquarters, provided counseling, and reassigned to a domestic assignment.

The 2004 report detailed fresh instances of alleged abuse. It says one interrogator threatened to kill the children of one 9/11 suspect, while another threatened a detainee's mother.

Dear Martha - blowing smoke in an American killing piece of crap's face? Threatening the family of the man that masterminded the death of 3000 Americans? Who is the complete and total moron that is willing to put dedicated CIA officers on trial for this stuff? Oh that's right - the brilliant one who helped get a pardon for Mark Rich and stamped out an investigation of voter intimidation against the New Black Panthers. No wonder Leon Panetta went on a cursing binge over this crap.

Shall we whip out the video of the beheading of Daniel Pearl? How about the scream laden video of Nick Berg having his head sawed off? Maybe a few pics of the mass graves of innocent Iraqis who refused to cooperate with Al Qaeda? I guess we should throw in some photos of 9/11 just for good measure. When the US reaches this level of atrocity then I'll call it harsh. In the meantime I just call it another blatant attempt to paint America as the "great Satan" by those sworn to protect us.

What IS amazing is the very documents that VP Dick Cheney requested be released to prove the positive results of interrogation of terroist detainees was slipped in with the other documents dumped today. And surprise, surprise - Cheney was RIGHT and ABC News (the all barack channel) actually confirms Cheney's assertions.

The CIA released the documents today that former Vice President Dick Cheney requested earlier this year in an attempt to prove his assertion that using enhanced interrogation techniques on terror detainees saved U.S. lives.
The documents back up the Bush administration's claims that intelligence gleaned from captured terror suspects had thwarted terrorist attacks, but the visible portions of the heavily redacted reports do not indicate whether such information was obtained as a result of controversial interrogation techniques, such as waterboarding.

One of the CIA documents, entitled "Detainee Reporting Pivotal for the War Against al-Qaeda," and written June 3, 2005, says "detainee reporting has become a crucial pillar of U.S. counterterrorism efforts, aiding intelligence and law enforcement operations to capture additional terrorists, helping to thwart terrorist plots, and advancing our analysis of the al-Qaeda target."

The report describes gaining "invaluable insights" into "al-Qaeda's current organization, the personalities of its key members, and al-Qaeda's decision-making process. His reporting has contributed to our understanding of the enemy, how al-Qaeda members interact with each other, how they are organized, and what their personal networks are like."

My my my - can't wait to see how Bill Burton tries to spin this one. Meanwhile Cheney issued a statement on the released documents and the appointment of a Special Prosecutor. Typical Cheney style- no minced words here... (emphasis mine)

The documents released Monday clearly demonstrate that the individuals subjected to Enhanced Interrogation Techniques provided the bulk of intelligence we gained about al Qaeda. This intelligence saved lives and prevented terrorist attacks. These detainees also, according to the documents, played a role in nearly every capture of al Qaeda members and associates since 2002. The activities of the CIA in carrying out the policies of the Bush Administration were directly responsible for defeating all efforts by al Qaeda to launch further mass casualty attacks against the United States. The people involved deserve our gratitude. They do not deserve to be the targets of political investigations or prosecutions. President Obama’s decision to allow the Justice Department to investigate and possibly prosecute CIA personnel, and his decision to remove authority for interrogation from the CIA to the White House, serves as a reminder, if any were needed, of why so many Americans have doubts about this Administration’s ability to be responsible for our nation’s security.

Obama and his cronies have attempted (and succeeded for the most part) to undermine all the work that the Bush Administration did to keep us safe from another terrorist attack and to stop the terrorists before their attacks went beyond planning stages. It reeks of the Clinton years when we turned our backs and poo-poo'ed the very idea that someone would dare attack us. I'm afraid we are in for a rude awakening.

Our failure to stand strong and present a posture of tough as hell to the terrorists is only going to imperil us further. The terrorists are laughing at the United States and smacking their lips over a target just ripe for the picking. But you can bet the farm on this - if there is another attack against the US, the Obama administration will be pointing fingers at President Bush so fast their knuckles will pop out of joint.

All I can say is keep praying for our Country and our service members who fight for our safety and security.

What About Seniors and Home Health?

Everyone is focused on the "death panels" in the Obamacare travesty and how it will impact seniors, but there is another section that will have an immediate and detrimental effect on our senior citizens now and in the future.

The proposed cuts to Medicare will all but eliminate the availability of home health care. For those that don't know, Medicare patients count for almost 90% of home health care clients. Home Health not only focuses on immediate needs, like wound care, IV medication or post op care, but primarily functions as a "preventative" service. Nurses and therapists work with the patients and their caregivers in their own home to teach, train and monitor their various medical conditions.

Take for instance a patient with one of the highest diagnosis related to re-hospitalization... CHF or Congestive Heart Failure. A nurse can go to the patient's residence and assess the patient's overall status. She/He can teach the patient the vital self-care tools in order to prevent re-hospitalization. The therapist can teach the patient energy conservation techniques and work to increase patient's overall strength and endurance. A seemingly minor weight gain of 3 pounds in a couple of days can indicate the start of an exacerbation of the CHF. Having a nurse monitor the patient's status and a patient/caregiver that is well informed of early signs of exacerbation can trigger a call to the MD for medication changes that can prevent a costly re-hospitalization. Early detection, prevention and treatment is the key with home health care.

You can use any other frequently diagnosed condition in the same scenario - diabetes, COPD, hypertension - the list is endless. Home health care is a bridge between the hospital and the home. Patients are cared for in their home where it is proven that recovery is enhanced in their "known" environment. Home health care is not just a "babysitter" service - patient's with continuous intravenous infusions and even patients requiring a ventilator to breath can be cared for in the home. Figure the cost of a hospital stay for a patient to receive IV antibiotics for 14 days in the hospital and compare it to the cost for home care for the same 14 day period. The difference is beyond mind-boggling.

Over the years, home health care has taken it on the chin from Medicare. The amount of paperwork and the number of hoops that one must jump through in order to receive reimbursement for Medicare claims is enormous. The documentation required to meet Medicare's regulatory requirements has driven many professionals from this field of care. Obamacare will simply be the proverbial nail in the coffin for home health care.

Without home health care availability, patients will be forced into longer hospital stays or transfers to nursing homes. The mortality rate will skyrocket due to the lack of followup for so many "at risk" patients. Costs will go up - not down - due to frequency of rehospitalizations. In short, it will be a disaster for patients that could have easily been cared for and lived productive lives while under home care services.

I have worked in the home health care field for 15 years - over half of my nursing career. I have witnessed the transformation of patients from the hospital to the home. I have argued non payment of Medicare claims in front of an Administrative Law Judge when someone sitting at a desk said teaching a patient to perform their own grooming was not a necessary skill for the patient to learn. I have been right in the middle of all the regulatory changes imposed by Medicare. But no matter what, I have never worked in a position that has left me with a feeling of utter fullfilment.

Please take a minute to watch the video at this website - Help Us Choose Home - then sign the petition asking Congress to vote "NO" to Medicare cuts. While the petition does not denounce the entire plan, I believe that a loud NO to Medicare cuts can work to defeat the disaster known as Obamacare in total.

Washington Post Turns Blind Eye to Obama's "Single Payer Healthcare" Promises

It is just getting beyond ridiculous when a "national" media organization like the Washington Post publishes a story about Obama's willingness to compromise on "single payer healthcare" but fails to include Obama's own words in 2003 and 2007 about his "plan". It's not like his speeches where he says "I happen to be a proponent of single payer healthcare" are hidden away in some vault. The actual videos of Obama with the words coming out of his mouth are all over YouTube and alternative media. Yet the lamestream media continues to operate under the influence of Obama kool-aid...

Obama's fond of mocking opponents' claims - the so-called Trojan Horse. Well if this crap passes, we're going to need a whole lot of "trojans" cause we'll all be taking it up the backside.

The Supreme Court just issued their decision in the case of Troy Anthony Davis, convicted cop killer who was found guilty in 1989. In a slap in the face to every law abiding citizen and police officers everywhere, they voted 3-2 to have a federal judge in GA review the case to see if a new trial is warranted.

I haven't had a chance to review the decision yet as I am still having dry heaves at this travesty of justice. I am disgusted beyond words and will have a LOT more to say later.

Have had a chance to look over the written opinions from the Supreme Court. Stevens, Bryer & Ginsberg wrote the majority opinion while Scalia and Thomas wrote the dissenting one. Here's a summary of the opinions per the Atlanta Journal Constitution...

• Justice John Paul Stevens, joined by Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer: “The substantial risk of putting an innocent man to death clearly provides an adequate justification for holding an evidentiary hearing. ... Imagine a petitioner in Davis’ situation who possesses new evidence conclusively and definitively proving, beyond any scintilla of doubt, that he is an innocent man. The dissent’s reasoning would allow such a petitioner to be put to death nonetheless.”

• Justice Antonin Scalia, joined by Justice Clarence Thomas: “The court proceeds down this path even though every judicial and executive body that has examined petitioner’s stale claim of innocence has been unpersuaded, and (to make matters worse) even though it would be impossible for the District Court to grant relief. ... Today, without explanation and without any meaningful guidance, this court sends the District Court for the Southern District of Georgia on a fool’s errand.”

What's so scary about this decision is this is the FIRST TIME IN 50 YEARS that the Supreme Court has sent a state prisoner's case back to district court. I'm afraid that the SCOTUS is attempting to set another precedent.

Of Course we've got the NAACP and Amnesty International doing their little happy dances right now. Their blitz propaganda campaign worked for now. I wonder how they would be feeling if Davis was a white man and MacPhail was a black man? Do you think they would have taken this case to this extreme? What was I thinking - of course they would not have done all this...

The true precedent here is that a cop killer can cry racism and after 15 years start flinging recantations (which btw were not recantations - simply just "I don't remember now" claims), get the NAACP and Rev Al involved and the courts will simply bend over for you.

Scary damn thought but no more scary than the direction this country is headed.

Defend Glenn Beck!!

The communist green job czar has sicced his little comrades on Glenn Beck because Glenn dared to call our Dear Leader a racist. Sometimes the truth hurts doesn’t it? The Color of Change (what a cute little name) has a campaign going to get all advertisers to remove their ads from Glenn’s Fox News Show. So much for free speech and all that… They have been successful with some ads which in the long run only hurts their companies since Glenn has one of the highest rated shows on Fox News. Some have claimed to “pull their ads” but really only moved them to another Fox News Show which still lines the pockets of the evil right wing mouthpiece also known as Fox News.

As a counter to the government’s attempts to control free speech, yet again, a website Defend Glenn has been developed to keep the truth out in the public domain. Make no mistake – this IS a governmental attempt to control free speech. The communist green job czar is one of the head guys at Color of Change and you can bet he doesn’t do anything without Dear Leader’s approval. Just another way for The One is claim plausible deniability and keep his hands somewhat clean.

Last night I attempted to sign the “Support Glenn” page of the Defend Glenn website but it kept redirecting me to CommonDreams.org. Now for those of you that don’t know, Common Dreams is a catchall for all the Lefty Opinion pieces with very little facts included on the site. Very little doubt that this was another attempt to hack the website of Defend Glenn (another attempt to tamp down free speech). I did notify the website owner and it has been fixed. The website owner reported that earlier someone had linked porn pics to the site in an attempt to discredit and embarrass the users & Glenn Beck. That issue has also been fixed.

Go over and add your voice to those defending Glenn Beck. Let’s show the communists among us that we will not stand for this attack against someone just because they don’t like the message. I’m sure it’s simply a coincidence that Glenn has been researching the Commie Green Job Czar’s connections and is set to expose the ties that bind when he returns from vacation next week…

Happy Birthday to My Favorite Guy!

Today, August 17th, is my favorite little man's birthday! Yes my precious little grandson, Boston, turns 2 today. It's so hard to believe that he is already 2 - it seems like only yesterday that I saw him for the very first time - just minutes after he arrived in this world.

What an absolute joy and a gift from God he is. Our weekly visits and every other week sleepovers are the highlight of my life. You can learn so much from a child - and you can laugh harder than you ever have at just pure silliness. No matter what is going on, just seeing his smiling little face can make all the troubles just melt away.

I look forward to many more weekends and cuddling up in grandma's bed watching Barney, Mickey Mouse or Cars (I don't even mind Barney when I'm watching it with Boston). I look forward to teaching him more and more things - just this weekend I taught him how to say "alligator" (after we saw an alligator in the pond on the golf course) and "I'm two". No matter what goes on in this crazy insane world we now live in, at least I have my little Boston to keep me laughing.

THIS Is OUR Time

I am beyond outraged right now. In fact I am so angry that I had to step away from my computer for a while so I would not write a diatribe filled with foul language.

I just listened to the young woman, Katy Abram, who told Arlen Spector that Congress had “awakened a sleeping giant” – cry while talking to Glenn Beck. She was crying over the vile emails, harassing cell phone calls and the overall personal trashing that has been thrown at her since she spoke out. She spoke up and is not being subjected to brown shirted thug tactics of fellow citizens who worship at the altar of Obama.

We saw glimmers of this with the treatment of Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber – the obsession with the politics of personal destruction – without a thought about what is right and moral. Now we’re seeing it brought out in the open and aimed at people who are just speaking out about their opposition to the Obama administration attempts to usurp our rights in the name of “progressivism” (AKA socialism). To just add to the absolute unreality of the situation, the President of the United States of America is not only turning a blind eye to these actions, he is encouraging it. He is sending his “hired thugs” out to silence the opposition. He is out to destroy and discredit the very people that he was elected to serve and protect, just to maintain his power.

We have Congressional members playing right along with the “dear leader’s” directives. Sheila Jackson Lee demonstrated her absolute contempt for the people that she supposedly represents at her recent town hall meeting. She carried on a cell phone conversation while a constituent was asking her a question at a public meeting. We have Congressional members equating dissent with terrorism and invoking the “Timothy McVeigh” card. There can’t possibly be anymore race cards left in the desk as so many have been thrown on the table just over the past month.

Meanwhile we have a media that is beyond reprehensible. The kiss the ring of the Dear Leader and pledge their troth to his service. They ignore the truth that is staring them in the face and just repeat the swill fed to them by Obama’s minions. Can someone tell me why it is okay for GE’s Immelt to be an “advisor” to the President while in charge of NBC and MSNBC? Where the hell is the outcry of conflict of interest and finger pointing about serving as nothing more than a mouthpiece? We were bombarded with 8 years of bleating about Fox News being the tool of the Bush Administration. Now the very same people, who spewed spittle anytime Fox News was brought up, are comfortable with the nefarious connections and dire consequences of having a “state run media”. Make no mistake – that is exactly what NBC/MSNBC is – A STATE RUN MEDIA ORGANIZATION. Yet not a peep out of Congress or any other media organizations.

The Obama Justice Dept dismissed charges against the New Black Panthers who thuggishly intimidated voters. ACORN get more and more of our tax money while their members are being prosecuted and investigated for voter registration fraud and despite their complicity in the mortgage loan implosion. SEIU cretins assault people speaking out against their “Sugar Daddy”. Meanwhile the silence is deafening.

What is it going to take to shake this country out of its Kool-Aid induced Obama-coma? I’m appalled at the obvious acquiescence of so many to government control of our lives just for the sake of sitting on our asses and taking handouts from Big Brother. Come on people – do you really think you are going to get something for nothing? Is the loss of freedom and privacy worth the rationed healthcare being offered to us? Not to me and obviously not to many others based on the turnout at the town halls and current polling.

Sadly for many, there is no hope. People scream from the rooftops but the zombies just keep on taking their tobacco smoke enemas with smiles on their faces. They accept the pabulum dished out by Obama’s media puppets and say “thank you sir – may I have another.” They will remain in their Obama-coma until their lives are ended courtesy of Obamacare Euthanasia.

To borrow a bumper stick slogan from Obama – THIS IS OUR TIME! Time for those of us that love our country, and the Constitution it was built on, and say NO MORE! No more lies, no more money, no more socialism and no more loss of freedom. We didn’t start this fight – we actually stood by and let it happen – but by God we will finish it. Those of us that believe in God and Country have passed the “smile and take it” point. As Katy Abrams said “You have awakened a sleeping giant.”

So ignore us and dismiss us at your own peril. We will not be silenced and we will not cower to the threats and intimidation tactics endorsed by our own President. Call us names and smear us with the politics of personal destruction. It’s too late – we are mad as hell and we aren’t going to take it anymore.

My Brother Is a SuperStar!

Little brothers tend to get pushed into the background when you're growing up. Not mine - he has always been a star in our family. I had the "book sense" but Wesley had the athletic ability and could play the hell outta the drums. Who would have ever guessed that after all those years of him practicing his drums and me stuffing cotton in my ears would end up like this? On a side note and only pertinent if you grew up in Pooler - I sure do miss those Saturday nights at Foy's... sigh...

Congrats little brother and the other members of 8 Mile Bend. I hope to get to see you play next weekend. You make this big sister very proud!

Captain Matthew Freeman Is Home

Today brought such a mixture of emotions that it left me feeling just physically and emotionally drained. Of course the first and foremost emotion was sadness for the tragic loss of such a fine young man and the absolute heartbreak his family and loved ones are experiencing. Then came the awe of realizing that this 29 year old man gave his life in order to keep people like me safe in our country.

Pride, not only in our country, but in the citizens of Richmond Hill, was just overwhelming. So many times we think our community just doesn't give a damn. Well today the people of Richmond Hill proved me wrong. They turned out in droves - estimates at thousands- to give this hero a proper welcome home. The ages ranged from infant to elderly. There were businessmen wearing their suits & ties in the stifling heat and humidity standing on the side of the road just to say "thank you". Flags were everywhere - from little ones passed out by a lady with a patriotic basket - to flag balloons held by some youngsters. There were a few signs but not a single one about the politics surrounding the war.

While waiting along the procession route, the crowd was noisy - laughing, talking, using their cellphones and greeting neighbors usually only seen in passing. But the minute the first motorcycle escort came into view, you could have heard a pin drop. As the hearse passed our location, the only sound heard was sniffles and sobs. When the Patriot Guard riders came by, people were shouting "thank you" to these dedicated souls who ensure that each and every Military member gets a proper escort to their "home".

After the procession passed by, the roadside cleared really fast. But it remained very quiet. The crowd that had once been loud and talkative was now walking silently with their heads down. Just the glimpse of the flag draped coffin through the tinted windows of the hearse and the heart wrenching vision of the family looking out through the open windows of the limo had obviously touched every single person in the crowd. I don't even recall hearing a baby cry and there were several in the crowd.

The emotion I felt as we were driving home was simply gratitude. Gratitude to live in a country where people are so willing to give the ultimate sacrifice for our safety. Gratitude to live in a community that would turn out en masse to ensure a proper welcome home for a hero. Gratitude for the family and friends of Capt Freeman for allowing us to share a tiny bit of their grief in order to express our thanks. Most of all I felt gratitude for the love of God and all the blessings He has given to me, my family and my country.

Please keep the family of Capt Matthew Freeman in your prayers through this most difficult time. They are going to need all the love and support we can offer them. It's a simple thing to ask for a family that has lost such a treasure.

The tobacco enema was used to infuse tobacco smoke into a patient’s rectum for various medical purposes, primarily the resuscitation of drowning victims. A rectal tube inserted into the anus was connected to a fumigator and bellows that forced the smoke towards the rectum.
